Important Handy Tips For Computer Room Cleaning

Regular computer room cleaning is an important activity that ensures that your equipment always performs at optimum level. Minute amounts of dust accumulate within time and can be disastrous as it may act as a conductor short circuiting your whole system. Areas that need particular care are the floor, fixtures and equipment surfaces.

With a clean lit free and non static cloth clean the surface of the equipment gently for a thorough tidy up you can use a home dry solution that evaporates immediately on application. Use a blower or a vacuum to clean out the dust that could be stuck in the air ducts having been pulled in by the fans. When doing the tidying up always disconnects all the equipment from the mains.

The abode itself should be kept clean by avoiding the cluttering of boxes and unused equipment. The floor should not be made out of carpet that has a tendency to retain dust, daily wipe the floor after covering up the equipment to prevent the residual dust from getting sucked into the system. Organize the abode such that no wires or equipment lie directly on the floor.

The floor should be cleaned at least once a week, vacuum the floor first before damp mopping it. This helps wipe off any dust particles left on the floor and guarantee a clean one. Remember not to use any chemical agents as most of them contain harmful fumes which when sucked into the machine can prove disastrous.

Fixtures used to raise the equipment off the ground should be moved regularly to clean the floor underneath. If using raised floors, remove any clutter or dust that may have accumulated over time the vacuum clean and wipe at least twice an year. This decreases the amount of dust likely to be sacked into the system and keep the room sterile.

As a precaution always limit the traffic that goes in and out to a minimum. This will reduce incidences of the accumulation of dust and also the risk of spills to a manageable low level. Regular and thorough computer room cleaning will have your machines working at optimum level.
