The race between data storage has units has made the product more compact and handy. This has brought a new format of data storage to the world of computers and computer systems. This has made the world a little easier to deal with but the public must always look at SDHC vs SDXC and decide which is the best.

If you are looking for memory cards for cameras, you should know that all storage devices are the same, their are differences with saving the information and he size of the storage limt. This is a wide margin across the SDHC vs SDXC. It can be difficult sometimes to find the correct media to store the information. It is not a good thing to lose a project when it is needed. It is good that the SD family is a reliable storage family for computer systems.

SDHC stands for secure digital high capacity. This is an added method of the standard information storage labeled as the SD family. The highest storage capability is set to 32 gigabytes. It has the same method as the older SD cards. This type of SD family uses the sector addressing type to store data. The byte addressing is used for older data storing devices.

Byte addressing has a full capacity of four gigs when saving information. The method known to the SD family as sector addressing is up to two TB for data saving. It is said that the SDHC can store up to 32 gb of information. It is a good storage media but can't be used in older computer systems that use the SD 1.0 setup.

The year 2009 saw the introduction to the SDXC method which is known for secure digital extended capacity. The place that the device was first shown to the world was at the Consumer Electronics Show or CES. SDHC can go over the threshold of 32 GB, but it has been set with an artificial limit by the industry which is based on the 2.0 SD setup. The start of the SDXCs are regulated by the 3.0 method which will later turn to a 4.0 classification during the time of 2011.

The speeds set for SDXCs with a SD 3.0 set up was introduced as 832 Mbit per second which is called UHS104 speeds. The SD 4.0 is setup to have transfer rates of 2.4 gbits per second. The official format for the SDXC is the exFAT file system. Other file systems such NTFS and others can be used on the storage unit is need be. This is one of the benefits of this device.

SanDisk, Matsushita, Toshiba was the market forefront for the SD industry. The SD csrd was given birth by MMC or the MultiMediaCard. It was developed a competitive edge for the MagicGate DRM storage device known to the world as the Sony Memory Stick. The Memory Stick was put out the year before.

When we look at the situation between SDHC vs SDXC, we can see a dynamic change between the two formats that changed the way we store information from computers. The two have different formats for data storage and the level of storing data. The choice of which is better is determined by the system that is being used and the user.
