Keep Your Computer Healthy With The Following Three Tips

By Irving S Fulliton

It doesn't matter why you use a computer, there are lots of tips that you can find. It can become confusing and even overwhelming, because there is so much. The technical aspects of the computer are easily ignored by those who don't understand those types of things. There is no reason to fear every piece of software, because many are newbie friendly. In order to take good care of your computer, it is pretty easy to learn what you need to know. The following three tips will prevent disaster from happening to your computer.

Your computer normally generates heat when running, and that is why you will see fans mounted usually on the backend. Many computer processors will even have small fans mounted on top of them, as well. But for now, we want you to start periodically checking your cooling fans. You want to ensure they are running, first of all, but mainly check them for dust build-up. A fan cage will become clogged with dust especially if the computer is sitting on the floor. Once clogging starts to happen, then your machine can become quickly compromised by heat trapped inside. If you are not using a surge protector for your computer and other important home electronics, then you are flirting with disaster.

Your home AC outlets are not the cleanest source of power, and they will easily pass on voltage spikes to your computer. If you get a large enough spike in power, then that can cause your computer power supply or other components to burn-up. You can go to any office supply store and find quite a variety of surge protectors. Then, you simply plug that into your wall outlet and your computer into the protector. That will be the lowest cost insurance you will ever buy, and it will save you heartache one day..

It is very important to always back up your computer hard drive, but we also recommend you take one more step. Any digital receipt you have that is important, you need to put on a thumb drive, which is usually a USB type, and also the information about your different logins. If something happened to your computer, you could lose the receipts, so you need a record of your download purchases. Just because a receipt is on your computer, doesn't mean it can't be lost. Computers have been known to crash, and if it happens to you, your downloads will be lost, if you can't find the right information. As long as you can prove that you bought the product in the first place, you'll be set. It only requires a minimum of effort to do these very simple computer tips. Doing them is a very easy way to protect your computer, which can keep you from losing time and money. Everyone has a tip that could save you in the long run, so you should check some of them out. People get lots of advice that they end up never following, and backing up your computer is one of those. It is a frustrating experience to have a hard drive crash, where you lose everything that was on it.
