Personalizing the Firefox Browser

By Doyle Joaquin

How to Custom Design Firefox

While many modern internet browsers offer some measure of customization, Firefox is still one of the easiest to design exactly to your personal tastes. Many people think that Firefox is rather boring upon downloading it and it is true that it doesn't look exciting at first. There are, though, a number of easy ways that you can transform Firefox into your ideal web browser.

Themes Galore

You can select from thousands of different themes for the Firefox browser. Some of the themes are fairly generic and only change your browser window to another color. If you are looking for a clean, minimal theme these might be great for you. There are also, though, many more ornate options. Sometimes, themes transform the pattern or color of the browser and also the icons and scroll bar.

Using these themes, you can change your Firefox browser until it completely appeals to your sense of style. Themes are not difficult to install or to remove from your computer. All you need to do to find a theme you like is visit Firefox's website. There is no limit as to how many themes you can download at one time. To see your themes collection, click-on your browser's Add-Ons folder.

To view a theme, select it from your theme gallery and restart your browser. You can easily delete any theme from your Add-Ons folder if you decide you detest certain options. Bear in mind that your themes will not load how they are supposed to if you are using a version of Firefox for which they were not developed.

Add-On Tools

One of the reasons Firefox has become so widely used is that it provides almost every type of person with a wide range of add-on choices. You can select from a large number of add-ons, such as items that let you easily organize all of the blogs you read in one spot or applications that will display the weather in your area at the side of the browser window. There are also some features that are merely for enjoyment.

Personalizing the Toolbar

Every computer user has tools and applications that he or she uses often, but may not be popular amongst other people. Because of this, the developers of Firefox have made it simple to personalize the browser's toolbar. All that Firefox users need to do is drag and drop their favorite tools into the toolbar and an icon will appear.

There are a number of reasons besides personalization options to use Firefox, though they are a major reason that many people choose it. Try Firefox today if you have never had it on your computer previously. There is quite a good chance that you will opt to make Firefox your main browser once you try it.
