Community building is considered as one of the most important tasks in the society. Social workers and volunteers work towards helping provide a better quality of life to a particular neighborhood. Anyone who is willing to contribute in their goal can do so.
Helping people enhance lives does not mean that a volunteer will have to spend too much. Activities such as book reading, lunch or dinners, and potlucks are just some of the things that can be done to reach out to others. Beliefs on values, religion, ethics, diversity, and human rights must always be considered in creating a better neighborhood. Builders should keep in mind that not everyone in the neighborhood may be open to changing their beliefs right away, or at all. There will always be people who will stick to doing what they are used to.
Trying to make a disorderly neighborhood tone down is a difficult job. Making other people believe in someone else's principle is also tough.
