Using Your Keyboard To Overcome Space Battles

By Angie B. Berge

Many of the most popular PC based space games entertain their players with incredibly complex and challenging space battles which force you to think creatively while fighting your enemies. You will have to take complete advantage of all of the weapons, vehicles, and items that you have gained throughout your game if you want to defeat each boss enemy. Even thoughrecent games present many difficult challenges, the truth is that the more difficult they are, the more you enjoy the rewarding feeling of having overcome them. Despite the fact that they do not directly involve the way the game is played, your keyboard and mouse could be affecting your ability to defeat the enemies in your favorite game.

Some normal space battles and most difficult fights demand that you use mixed sets of your weapons and special items to win. Your character's abilities are probably controlled by mouse movements, mouse clicks, and lots of different keyboard commands; these relate to item inventories, character movement, and the use of special abilities. The secret to really making your character able to act fast and execute chain commands rapidly is using a keyboard and mouse that have been specifically crafted with the needs of gamers in mind.

Gaming keyboards usually have additional keys on them in strategically easy to reach locations so that you will be able to react faster during space battles. Gaming keyboards are also designed with certain keys closer together than traditional PC or laptop keyboards. An example could be a gaming keyboard that includes some spare buttons near the arrow keys so that, as you are directing your character, you can quickly reach for a button that activates a specific ability.

A few gamers think of their mouse as a simple point and click device that lets them direct their character during a space battle, but the truth is that it can be much more. Gaming mice have extra buttons between the two click able buttons and on the side of the mouse where your thumb rests. Thumb buttons are particularly useful because they can be programmed with items which you can click while simultaneously moving your character with the mouse.

Many games also let you create macro commands, which are long strings of chain actions, and lock them to one of your keyboard or mouse's programmable keys. Space battles are more fun and exciting when you gain the ability to quickly access your abilities and items with gaming accessories.
