Good Reasons To Consider the Acer S5 Ultrabook

By Andrew Williams

General introduction of Acer S5: The Acer Aspire S5 is recognized as the thinnest (11mm) and most light-weight ultrabook opposed to its competition. The Acer S5 has amazing features including Instant Connect which allows users to connect to the Internet within 2.5 mere seconds. Its motorized Magic Flip Panel is simply out of this world helping to add to its uniqueness. The Magic Flip Panel hides unsightly ports such as HDMI, Thunderbolt and USB 3.0 until when you need to use them.

Battery life: The Acer Aspire S5 Ultrabook packs a 3 Cell battery. The battery is estimated to last for approximately 4 hours, 20 mins. Even so, you should note that battery life will depend on how you use the ultrabook.

Screen size and resolution: This ultrabook comes with a 1,366 x 768 resolution on a TN 13.3 inch screen. The high resolution screen is a plus for this thin Acer device. The display quality is something that is worth your money. The quality of the IPS is also impressive. Other things about the display are quite common such as the width of the bezels to the reflective finish.

Processing Power: The processing power of the Acer S5 Ultrabook is what makes it glow and sets it apart from other laptop models. Processor is a 1.9 GHz Intel Core i7-3517U CPU with 4GB of RAM. The disk performance of this computer beats out any other laptops available on the market due to dual 12 GB, LiteOn-branded SATA III SSD's featuring RAID a configuration. This ultrabook takes a mere twelve secs to boot up.

It seemed to be a general opinion from several clients who rated this ultrabook, that although a good device on many levels, they felt that Acer should have made a few improvements. This ultrabook is lacking some fundamental features that most high end ultrabooks automatically come with, and many users felt that for what the Acer S5 did provide, it was very high-priced. If the price were lower, most consumers felt this computer would be a great value.

Conclusion: The Acer Aspire S5 Ultrabook earns its price tag with its superior performance and creative design. The Magic Flip Panel gives it a fresh and nifty design while its resolution serves as its most evident disadvantage.
