Col3neg Among Other File Sharing Sites

By Tara Webb

Col3neg is a site on the internet that allows its users to share files. Most of the content Kaydence to Sri Lankan viewers. The content shared on the website ranges from television contents to film stuff video to news etc

This content is shared for free and users are responsible for the creation and distribution of the content. There are often problems with content that is shared for free by users. A lot of the time the content that is being shared often has copyrights that are being infringed upon. It is always advisable to make sure that you are not infringing upon any copyrights when you engage in the process of sharing content online.

Peer to Peer is another term for this practice. There have been many lawsuits that have been filed against file sharers. An understanding of the law is important if you are going to engage in the process of file sharing. There have been criminal cases brought against both the companies responsible for housing this content as well as the individuals who share the content. There are cases where hefty fines have been handed down against these violators.

Different countries have varying laws and it is important to be informed on these laws prior to sharing content online. Depending on the gravity of the infringement plaintiffs in these lawsuits can range from government entities to companies have legal ownership of the content.

Sometimes these lawsuits are brought with the specific intent of deterring other users from similar behavior. There have been some successful filings and there have been instances where sites have been closed down. On occasion criminal cases have also been pursued against their owners.

The content industry has adopted some policies in order to combat these violations. One such policy is the graduated response system based on the three strikes rule. This policy takes advantage of a collaboration between the content industry and internet providers and can result in loss of internet to an internet protocol address of a repeated violator.

Some problems have arisen as a result of such collaborations. One particular content company illegally used his collaboration to compile user information. On this particular occasion the dutch authorities quickly instituted corrective measures.

Nonetheless the problem of file sharing is still a troubling and legitimate issue for content providers. Spain registers the highest incidence of abuse. A study conducted during the course of 12 months in Spain found that there were over 2 billion illegal downloads. It is estimated that over 30% of the country engages in this conduct

Col3neg content is can be shared and viewed with minimal effort on of the users . In many cases sites do not very much control over the content uploaded by their users. There needs to be better controls in place at these companies and on these websites to avoid unnecessarily expensive action being brought against them. On many an occasion the companies are created as a legitimate service and are law abiding but end up in trouble as a result of abuse by their users.
