Top Diablo III Monk Skills

By Jassper Jenkins

When looking to choose an awesome class in Diablo III, consider playing the Monk. The monk is a melee class and dispatches his enemies with a series of extremely quick punches and kicks. Below are some of the best monk skills to use as you battle the evil forces on your journey.

The monk and the barbarian are really the only pure melee classes in Diablo III. The witch doctor has melee abilities, but doesn't pack the same punch (pun intended) as a class like the monk. This class is great at single target damage, which will help in boss fights, but is also no slouch when it comes to dispatching a bunch of enemies at once.

Some of the key characteristics of this powerful class include lightning-fast attacks, the abilities to dart around the battlefield quickly and intensely-powerful single target damage. Let's take a look at some of the very best monk skills.

Breath of Heaven is a healing ability and will require you to use up 25 Spirit and requiring a recharge of 15 seconds. This power uses a strong flare of divine energy that has the skill to heal you and your allies that are within a 12-yard radius for 6202 to 7442 Life. You must reach Level 8 to unlock this skill.

One of the really cool Monk attacks is called Seven-Sided Strike. The use of this power will cost players 50 Spirit, with a 30-second cool down. This ability equips you the skill to rapidly run in between nearby enemies. You can wreak up to 777% weapon destruction to your enemies after striking 7 times. Upon reaching Level 17, this skill can be unlocked.

Inner Sanctuary is another powerful defensive skill that will require you to expend 30 Spirit for every use with a required recharge of 20 seconds. Using this power will provide you with the ability to create a runic sphere of protection around the ground for 5 seconds, preventing enemies to pass or penetrate. This particular skill can be unlocked upon reaching Level 22.

The skill Exploding Palm will require you to expend 40 Spirit. When using this power, your target will suffer 220% weapon destruction inflicted as Physical for the next 3 seconds. If your target dies while suffering blood loss, it will burst and result to 30% of the target's maximum life suffered as physical damage to all of the enemies who are in close proximity. This skill can be unlocked at Level 13.

A 30-second recharge is required upon using Mantra of Retribution and with a requirement to use up 50 Spirit. When reciting the Mantra, you and your allies who are within a 40-yard radius will have the power to replicate melee damage return to your adversaries, which will result to Holy damage, which is equivalent to 40% of the damage suffered. 3 minutes will be the duration for this power to last. You must reach Level 21 to unlock this ability.

Overall, Monks are among the highly favored classes mainly because of their ability to eradicate single foes and inflict maximum damage. Through the use of elemental powers generated through crescent kicks and palm strikes, Monks are able to deliver short range area of effect attacks.
